How to search your X (Twitter) bookmarks

1. Open your bookmarks. On the web, your profile icon menu, then Bookmarks, or go straight to x.com/i/bookmarks. On mobile, look for History rather than Bookmarks: X renamed the section in May 2026 and your bookmarks are the first tab inside it.
2. Use the search bar at the top of that page. Type a word you remember from the post. This is a bookmarks-only search, not the site-wide one, and it is free on every account.
3. No search bar on your phone? Open x.com in a browser. Not every app build puts the search bar on the bookmarks page. The mobile web version has it, so use that instead of the app.

Worth knowing what X's own documentation covers here: the help page for Bookmarks explains saving, viewing and removing them, and confirms they are private. It does not describe the search feature, folders or any limit at all, which is part of why the advice online contradicts itself so much.

Almost every "X bookmark search not working" case is one of these four, and only the first is a bug in the ordinary sense:

• There is no search bar where you are looking. Some phone apps do not show one on the bookmarks page. Not broken, just not there. Open x.com in a mobile browser instead.
• You are searching the article, not the post. This is the big one. You bookmarked a post that said "this is excellent" with a link. You remember the article's argument, not those three words. X's search only ever saw the three words.
• You are searching a video or an image. A bookmarked clip has whatever the poster typed above it and nothing else. What was said in it is not text anywhere in X.
• The bookmark is gone. If the post was deleted, or the account was deleted, suspended, made private, or blocked you, the bookmark quietly leaves your list. You are searching for something that is no longer there.

Every one of those failures has the same shape: the words you remember live one step past where X's index stops. Fixing it means following the link and reading what is there. Deepmark does that:

• The whole list syncs itself. The Chrome extension pulls your entire bookmarks list in the background through your own logged-in x.com session. No tab opens, no password is shared with Deepmark, and later bookmarks are picked up as you go.
• The link is read, not just stored. The linked page's text is indexed, videos are transcribed, and text inside images is read out of the pixels. The post's own words are in there too, so you keep everything X's search could already do.
• It survives the post being deleted. Because the content was copied at sync time, a bookmark whose original post is gone is still in your library and still findable.

The honest limits: $7 a month billed yearly, it needs the Chrome extension to sync, and a large bookmarks list takes a while to finish indexing on the first pass.
