Deepmark vs mymind, compared honestly

Checked 12 August 2026 on mymind's own pricing page, since half the searches that land here just want the number:

• The Bookmarker: $4.99/month. Visual bookmarking without the AI features.
• Student of Life: $7.99/month or $79/year. Unlimited cards, AI image tagging, text recognition in images, smart spaces, serendipity.
• Mastermind: $12.99/month or $129/year. Adds advanced AI, reading mode, article backup, video uploads up to 500 MB, Same Vibe mood boards, AI summaries, and the PDF analyzer.
• Newton: $299/year, announced but listed as not yet available.

Deepmark is one tier: $7/month billed yearly at $84, or $10 paid monthly, with everything included. The comparison to make is against Mastermind, the tier where mymind's video and article features live, which costs more than Deepmark on both billing cycles.

mymind has been refined for years around a specific philosophy, and if that philosophy is what you want, nothing else feels like it:

• It is genuinely beautiful and genuinely calm. No folders, no filing, no social features, no collaboration: a private visual space that markets itself as an anti-productivity tool, and delivers on that. Deepmark's library is a plainer, denser, search-first grid.
• Native apps everywhere. iPhone, iPad and Android apps with share-sheet saving. Deepmark is a web app plus a Chrome extension, and mobile is still on the roadmap.
• A cheaper way in. $4.99 gets you started; $7.99 gets you the AI tagging tier. Deepmark has exactly one price and it's higher than both.
• Creative features Deepmark doesn't attempt: Same Vibe mood boards, serendipity resurfacing, a reading mode, AI summaries, a PDF analyzer. Deepmark spends all of that effort on retrieval instead.
• A privacy stance built into the brand: no tracking, no ads, no algorithmic feed. It's the core of their pitch and they've held to it for years.

If you save mostly images and articles, want zero organizing effort, and value how a tool feels over how deeply it can search, buy mymind and enjoy it.

The complaint that shows up again and again from heavy savers, on any tool, is "I know I saved it, I can't find it." That retrieval problem is the entire reason Deepmark exists:

• Videos become searchable words. Every reel, video and YouTube save is transcribed in some 99 languages, on-screen text is read out of the frames, and page screenshots are described for search. mymind's Mastermind tier stores video uploads up to 500 MB, but no tier lists transcription. A video in mymind is findable by its tags, not by what was said in it.
• Your saves arrive on their own. X bookmarks, Instagram saves and YouTube Watch Later sync in the background from your own browser session. In mymind, each save is an individual act through the extension or share sheet; there is no bulk import, which their own help pages frame as intentional. Deepmark will happily swallow your existing thousand-bookmark Chrome tree on day one.
• Search by half a memory. "The reel where he browns the butter with miso" finds the reel, because the transcript is in the index. mymind's search works over what its AI tagged and the text it saved: strong for images and articles, but it can only match layers it stored.
• Your AI agent can use it. Deepmark doubles as an MCP server: Claude, Cursor or any MCP client can search your library and read full transcripts after an OAuth sign-in. mymind shipped a public REST API in July 2026, which is real progress, but wiring it into an agent is your project.

The trade is plain: Deepmark is less beautiful, costs more than mymind's entry tiers, has no native mobile apps yet, and its export is by email request. It earns its keep when what you save includes video and the finding-it-again part is what keeps failing.

Can I move my mymind library into Deepmark?

There is no one-click importer, and this one is genuinely awkward: getting your saves out of mymind is on you. If you can produce a list of URLs, import them into a Chrome bookmarks folder and Deepmark's extension indexes the whole tree from there.

Is Deepmark just mymind with search?

No, and picking between them by aesthetics alone would land you in the wrong tool. mymind is a calm private space that happens to search; Deepmark is a search engine over everything you save that happens to have a library view. Heavy X/Instagram savers and video-first savers fit Deepmark; image moodboarders and article-clippers fit mymind.
